This winter, The Humanist Project returns with the World Premiere of:
H.U.P. Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle (Or Quantum Fairy Tales)
A new, devised comedy by The Humanist Project which combines Quantum Physics, Russian Fairy Tales, people doing people things, and lots of laughs.
A little on the show:
It’s just another day for public access television science show host, Professor S. Pants (played by Andrew Borthwick-Leslie). He is attempting The Schrödinger’s Cat Experiment ON AN ACTUAL CAT! With a little help from his trusty assistants, Dean (Zach Libresco), Francis (Michael F. Toomey), and Pina Potter (Josephine Wilson), the show goes off the rails transporting our heroes into the television program in the following time slot: “Depressing Russian Fairy Tales.”
In the spring of 2018, The Humanist Project had a very successful workshop showing of H.U.P. This winter, we hope to bring this work to a larger audience. The nine show, World Premiere production at The Tank will begin November 22nd and close December 14th.
We need your help to:
Hire actors, designers, and stage managers.
Create a set that is easy to transport and pack away.
Design a lighting plot that is able to tour.
Build masks and costumes for the show.
Rent rehearsal space, get insurance, and everything else(!) required to produce a show in New York City.
At this point, we are asking you, our community, to help us raise the funds we need for this World Premiere. We need to raise $7,000.
As artists in uncertain times, our aim as Humanists is to bring people together and question assumed knowledge. With those goals in mind, we hope that you, our friends, family, and community, will support us with a donation to this project.
If we found
280 people to donate $25 we would reach our goal
140 people to donate $50 we would reach our goal
70 people to donate $100 we would reach our goal
14 people to donate $500 we would reach our goal
7 people to donate $1,000 we would reach our goal
And just look to the right to see all these great perks like and invites to the opening night.
