About

Training Transmit a passion, the passion of the gaze. Question the obvious, bring out a motion from the real. Building stories, sharing tales which anchor us in territories while inviting us to travel discovering the other. For every edition of the workshop, 5 to 8 young filmmakers are selected on the basis of a film idea. They spend 3 months in a residency where they will develop their idea and turn it into a film in 3 months. The lodging and the food and the means of production of their films are provided. The trainees come with an idea and after 3 months, they have a short film. The workshop is free of charge. Every evening the trainees are exposed to documentary films from around the world. Learn by doing, just like companions sharing knowledge with generosity and humanity. Putting your hand in the dough without forgetting that we are at the service of beauty, the truth, the real: Documentary cinema! Broadcasting Popular education with films grouped into thematic series, for television, internet and short modules that can be used in schools and public screenings in community followed by conversations about the films and the topics. The La'a Lom, The House of Documentary A cultural center where the workshops will take place, and where the filmmaker can reside for some times to work on their project. The La'a Lom will have a library on documentary cinema and on African cinema. The la'a Lom will also be a place where we could preserve the films of Jean Marie Teno and the films made during the workshops.
