The Lantern Library is a charitable division of Levine Querido, an award-winning publisher of books for children and young adults based in Montclair, New Jersey.
A study of home library access in 31 countries found that children with access to books outside of school had increased academic success, vocabulary development, and problem-solving skills. In partnership with a growing network of literacy organizations, our program seeks to facilitate home library building by connecting children with high-quality, hardcover books from our roster of critically-acclaimed authors, including winners of the Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, Locus, and other prestigious awards.
Our name stems from our belief that books are a vital source of light in a child’s coming-of-age, serving as a tool to promote empathy, connection, and social-emotional learning.
