About

Limbo Museum is a radical new arts institution dedicated to architecture, art and design in West Africa. Situated within the concrete shell of an unfinished brutalist building in Accra, the museum embraces incompletion as both a physical condition and an institutional position. Rather than aspiring toward a polished or fixed form, Limbo Museum foregrounds process, experimentation and site-specific activations.

The museum hosts long- and short-term residencies for artists, architects, designers, and researchers; provides flexible exhibition and activation spaces; and supports research, publishing, and public-facing inquiry. These programs are intentionally integrated, allowing projects to move fluidly between making, thinking and sharing.

We are raising $2 million to make this vision a reality. Your donation will support:

  • The development of an innovative museum infrastructure grounded in sustainability and long-term institutional thinking
  • Exhibitions and artistic commissions centered on African and diasporic practices
  • Artist residencies and research-led programs that foster cross-disciplinary exchange
  • Educational and publishing initiatives that expand access through public programs, publications, and archival materials
