The installation will light up New York Harbor nightly from September 21–28, 2025, during Climate Week NYC, the World Climate & Biodiversity Summit, and the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly. A 125-foot-wide, 40-foot-tall arc of illuminated mist will become the canvas for Wonder Science’s visual program, combining original microscopy art and curated imagery of aquatic microbes and ocean life. This vivid portrayal reveals the essential yet largely unseen organisms in the oceans—lifeforms that purify water, cycle nutrients, and sustain entire food webs worldwide.
