Missing Poster.png13.36 MB The Mirror Between Us is a 15-minute standalone short film that also serves as the proof of concept for my upcoming feature House of Toxic Hues of Blue, set to begin full production in June 2026. Filmed entirely in Providence, RI, the short immerses viewers in a world built around color, shadow, and psychological tension—blending the aesthetics of Ari Aster and Guillermo del Toro into one unified visual language.
The short is complete and currently in post-production. This campaign will allow us to finalize the edit, sound design, color correction, scoring, and prepare the film for the international festival circuit. It will also help us build momentum toward funding the full-length feature.
IMG_9834.JPG1.08 MB As a Dominican Afro-Latino military veteran, writer, actor, producer, and production designer, my mission is to create ambitious, emotionally complex films led by diverse and often under-represented casts and crews. The Mirror Between Us is the result of months of pre-production, culminating in a four-night shoot with an exceptionally talented team of artists from New England, New York, Georgia, Texas, LA, Argentina and Mexico.
This short represents the beginning of a larger creative ecosystem—one that will grow into the feature film over the next year.Gael And Enrique Up the stairs.png1.17 MB
Production Reimbursements (Transparent & Standard Practice)
During the shoot, I personally covered several necessary production expenses to keep the project on schedule—this is extremely common in indie filmmaking.
Campaign funds will help reimburse those out-of-pocket hard costs, including:
Equipment rentals
Art and wardrobe items
Set design and props
Transportation and meals
Emergency production purchases
All expenses listed were direct, out-of-pocket production costs from pre-production and principal photography. Reimbursing these costs allows the project to enter the festival circuit with financial stability and ensures all future contributions go directly toward distribution, marketing, and audience-building efforts.
This transparency is important—and it is approved under fiscal sponsorship rules as long as the expenses are documented, which they are.
At a time when Hollywood is undergoing rapid change, independent filmmakers are increasingly relying on community, collaboration, and mutual support to bring meaningful stories to life. The Mirror Between Us was made through exactly that spirit — a diverse team of artists pooling resources, skill, and heart. Contributing to this campaign isn’t just elevating diverse voices and helping a film grow into its full potential; it’s strengthening a growing creative ecosystem built on reciprocity, opportunity, and giving back.
