About

The New York Theatre Review, founded in January 2010, served over 200,000 people per year, featuring articles generated by over 70 working artists and cutting-edge writers. Our mission is to support independent theatre companies by amplifying the theatre experiment. Our writers are fellow theatre artists sharing their time and care. We offer impressions, deconstructions, and questions from a place of respect for all theatre artists. We acknowledge the value of each writer’s unique perspective. Our writers write in their own voice and style to validate, strengthen, and bring visibility to indie theatre works as well as their own. New York Theater Review strives to create a space that honors diversity, equity, and inclusion. We do not tolerate bigotry, discrimination, harassment, or violence in any form.
