About

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking. -Albert Einstein

Our passion for solutions for poverty is unmatched, yet doing things the same way with the same results is insanity. We feed the hungry, cloth the naked, year after year. Change happens when the problem is fully exposed, allowing us to think in a manner that brings forth change.

‘The Obsoletes’ is a game changer as it’s truly unseen, unconventional, unparalleled, and an unprecedented television show concept which incorporates the least amongst us. What better way to bring forth to the world the many injustices and idiosyncrasies of the impoverished that are present in our Nation’s Capital, than through the art of film. This will last forever, and mobilizes many to step up for the few, and productively start the talk around matters of poverty.

We come to you seeking a significant donation for the production of a dramedy or dark comedy much like Breaking Bad, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Orange is the New Black, etc. As you can imagine creating a film is not cheap. Today a network 30 minute sitcom pilot can cost in the neighborhood of 2 million dollars. Our intention is to do a production that is network quality in performance and look, but not for 2 million dollars. Through ‘The Obsoletes’ we seek to do as Norman Lear did with ‘All in the Family’ and bring forth the many prejudices associated with poverty in an effort to wind up our audience with good or bad feelings, all of which shine light on the problem bringing forth solutions. This is executed primarily with homeless individuals who’ve been trained to perform in a character that is close to the person they were, are, and strive to become. The budget for the 30 minute pilot is $30,000. At bare minimum we will raise $10,000 to create a web series to introduce ‘The Obsoletes’.

‘The Obsoletes’ provides unique insight into our future - yours and mine. Just as death is a surety, in the 21st century there's another, our obsolescence. ‘The Obsoletes’ is a dramady exposing the lives of people who are obsolete in the present, enabling you to search deep inside yourself for similar traits that reside within you, or circumstances that surround you - that can be scary, as well as comical. ‘The Obsoletes’ is filled with dark comedy that brings forth those politically incorrect thoughts we secretly harbor about those who are “obsolete” among us - those blazing the trail that we're all blindly headed down.

Who the hell are ‘The Obsoletes’?

Recognizing that it may be complicated to envision oneself as being or becoming obsolete, we introduce you to obsolescence with those whom your inner prejudice has deemed obsolete - the homeless. ‘The Obsoletes’ will provide raw insight into a forgotten and neglected group of people, those people who cause us to avert our eyes as we pass. The people who secretly cause us to wonder about how they got there, but never dare to ask. The people that we see begging for help, but we are too busy to stop. So for the sake of familiarity let’s just say that today ‘The Obsoletes’ are the homeless, tomorrow they may include you:

The plague afflicting human beings of the 21st Century is Obsolescence...It doesn't discriminate, it just disseminates.

You’ve probably seen crowd funding campaigns like Kick Starter where filmmakers ask for your investment and in return provide a gift if they raise enough funds. We have no gifts but what we do provide is a 100% tax deduction for your donation, not investment. REPEAT: By setting ‘The Obsoletes’ up as a fiscally sponsored project your donation is fully tax deductible!

Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to share with you ‘The Obsoletes’ a television concept that will bring forth the scope of poverty in America from our Nation’s Capital in an entertaining and enlightening manner.
