The Officer Thomas Historical Preservation Project will preserve, organize, and share historical photographs, records, and oral histories documenting Edward “Doc” Thomas’s more than six decades of public service in Houston. The project will create a publicly accessible educational resource that places his life within the broader history of Black public service, Texas history, and civic change.
