The Path to Catherine, a new musical

Welcome to The Path to Catherine, an original musical written by Patricia Zehentmayr and Jan Roper.
This sung-through work tells the origin story of the teenage girl who will one day become Catherine the Great, and the two women who would ignite her extraordinary destiny — her ambitious mother Joanna and Russia’s Empress Elizabeth.

After a six-week run at Los Angeles’ Brickhouse Theatre in 2022 — earning phenomenal reviews and three BroadwayWorld Award nominations including Best Musical — the show released its concept album on September 19, 2025 through Center Stage Records, featuring Broadway’s Caitlin Kinnunen, Krystina Alabado, and Sharon Wilkins, produced by Adrian Cota.

Now we’re building on that momentum to take the next step: a full professional production.
Funds raised here will support workshop development, creative design, casting, and production costs that bring The Path to Catherine to the stage.
