To our Friends, Family and Colleagues,

Most of you know us, Patricia Zehentmayr and Jan Roper, and most likely you know about our new musical, The Path to Catherine.  We began collaborating together on this fascinating story in 2019, and 2 years later, completed the 90-minute sung-through rock opera that tells the true backstory of the teenage girl who will one day become Catherine the Great, Russia's greatest Empress, and the 2 women who shaped her.

The Path to Catherine had a 6-week workshop run in Los Angeles in 2022 that earned phenomenal reviews as well as three nominations for the Broadway World Regional Awards, including Best Musical!

Now we need to build on the excitement the show is generating and put together a producing team to lead us to an Off-Broadway run. These So-Cal women writers have used the past 2 years to create a network of theater professionals in NYC, with opportunities popping up to bring our little musical to the Big Apple. And that brings us to this campaign to raise money.

What we've always known about our show is that there's nothing quite like it, told with just 3 powerful women on stage, with a musical score chock-full of melodic and modern tracks. But bringing those songs to life beyond the "demo" stage takes a deft hand, a producer who understands modern programming, with today's production tools, and who can navigate the complexities of storytelling unique to cast albums. Enter our producer, Adrian Cota. Adrian has a growing list of artists he has produced, like Rachel Platten, Cody Simpson, BabyJake and Camila. He is now at the helm of our recording project, a 6-song EP,  bringing a unique but accessible sound to some of our bigger hits from the show. Recordings of this caliber, sung by Broadway-name actors, along with an aggressive social media campaign will raise our profile to earn us a place at the table to get to more serious investors in the Broadway community.

To do this right, we believe we will need $36,000 to complete the project. There is Adrian's fee, the Broadway actors we are hiring, the casting director's fee, extra musicians, mixing and mastering and the making of videos.

We know this is a big goal, and we would be so grateful for your donation, no matter the amount. If you do choose to help us with a contribution, we will happily keep you abreast of the project as we continue forward, sending you portions of the tracks, so you can be a part of hearing these songs transform from pretty good demos to awesome fully produced tracks.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We appreciate you so much!
