The Pearl (Morvarid) is a historical and political theater project that explores the brutal legacy of the Mongol invasion of Iran and draws parallels to modern-day terrorism. Based on a previously staged production in Iran and rooted in extensive academic research, this English adaptation will highlight themes of women’s resistance, cultural memory, and the tragic cost of war. Combining powerful performances, poetic visuals, and immersive staging, The Pearl condemns all forms of terror—past and present—while honoring the strength of those who resist. This project aims to engage U.S. audiences in a timely, global conversation about history, violence, and resilience.
