The Origin: The Pink Hulk: One Woman’s Journey to Find the Superhero Within is my award-winning solo show about being a 3-time cancer survivor--Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and then 15 years later, Stage 2 breast cancer, and 4 years after that, Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I want to inspire and empower any person facing adversity in his/her life that there is hope. I am truly blessed and grateful that after only 5 months of treatment--just oral mediation only--no surgery, radiation or chemotherapy--like the 2 times before, the cancer is gone--no evidence of disease. And in only 5 months’ time, The Pink Hulk transformed from a reading into a full staged production, which debuted in 2016. It been accepted into 60 different play festivals worldwide since its debut, won multiple awards and has been touring both domestically/internationally and virtually now, including over 25 cities and Europe--Iceland, Sweden, England and Finland. Raising funds for both national and international organizations, I have held audience talkbacks after performances with other cancer survivors and medical professionals. And recently received a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for my patient advocacy.

History: I first began writing The Pink Hulk in November 2015–the same year I finished treatment after my second cancer battle. Then I updated my story when I was diagnosed with Stage IV MBC--now free and clear!

Its Impact: The Pink Hulk is a testament to NEVER give up hope!! I didn't give up, even with that third diagnosis and never should you! We all have a superhero inside ourselves to help us conquer any adversity in life. In the show, I talk about subjects not normally addressed when it comes to cancer treatment: early menopause, body image, side effects.The Pink Hulk has plenty of HUMOR: guaranteed. I put a sexy face to cancer. It's unlike any other show you've seen because it's funny and poignant at the same time--you will laugh; you will cry! I thank my family, friends and doctors who rallied around me to kick cancer to the curb 3x!
