The Temptations Salon and Zine

The Temptations Salon and Zine was born out of a simple but powerful desire: to create a space where the urge to make art—what we call the human temptation for artistic creation—is not only welcomed, but celebrated. We do this through community-building salons, accessible writing workshops, and the publication of our independent literary magazine.

Founded in late 2024, this project began as a dream of our editor-in-chief, Peyton, who long envisioned a vibrant creative hub where artists could gather, collaborate, and share their voices. The first salons and workshops began in living rooms and borrowed spaces, sparking raw, honest conversations and inspiring new work. When Peyton unexpectedly relocated to Phoenix, The Temptations Salon grew—this time into print. The literary magazine was launched to give a platform to the voices coming out of our growing creative community.

Now, we’re at a pivotal moment. We want to expand access to the arts by bringing our workshops into underfunded areas and offering creative writing spaces specifically for high school students—many of whom don’t otherwise have access to arts education.

• Free or low-cost writing workshops for youth and marginalized communities

• Operational costs (like venue rentals and workshop materials)

• Printing costs for our upcoming magazine issues

• Fair compensation for the artists, editors, and facilitators who keep this dream alive
