This Is A Movement’s mission is to harness and catalyze a robust community network within the jazz and creative music space geared toward cultivating an equitable and liberated music industry for people of all gender identities, race, class and ethnic backgrounds through non-hierarchal, Black Feminist methodologies. We hope to create an incubator for new ideas that will bring about the future change we need in our cultural spaces. For TIAM, this means prioritizing an ethos of accountability and care for our community, while creating opportunities for the value of their lived experience to shape the dialogues through which we build and assess knowledge.
