Current Project: Spirit in the Cane created by Nikki Khouri
SPIRIT IN THE CANE is a whimsical, heart-wrenching story told from the perspective of an old man’s granddaughter. The audience is taken on a ride through his dementia filled mind, and with a little help from a cane, they are guided through grief, memory, and joy!
The play covers and explores all the major symptoms of a person with mixed dementia (Vascular and Alzheimer's).
We have a goal of raising $20,000 for a two week run of a workshop production in NYC.
10% of the money we raise to produce the play will be donated to Alzheimer’s Association, CaringKind NYC, and NY Memory Center.

Who is Thorn & Petal?
Thorn & Petal is an artistic partnership dedicated to providing, developing, and cultivating art for the underrepresented and under-served communities. We explore the themes of identity, love, and isolation through art making and humanitarian efforts.
We do this work with the goal of bringing more understanding and more joy to a world that, at times, forgets how to access it.
