Thorns and Other Soft Surfaces is a psychological horror short film that explores grief, reconciliation, and the fragility of family bonds through a surreal and emotionally charged lens. With this project, I aim to not only craft a compelling and artistically bold film but also create opportunities for underrepresented filmmakers, artists, and students to gain hands-on experience in professional production settings. Through festival screenings, community discussions, and educational initiatives, Thorns will serve as both a cinematic statement and a platform for fostering mentorship, storytelling, and artistic empowerment within independent film.
