For sixteen seasons, Tilted Axes: Music for Mobile Electric Guitars has been bringing adventurous contemporary music directly into public life. Instead of asking audiences to come to us, we bring music into streets, parks, neighborhoods, galleries, and theaters, creating performances that are accessible, welcoming, and shared.

This season continues that mission with free public performances throughout New York City, including our return to Art in Odd Places, our annual autumn and Halloween processions, and our Winter Solstice performances. We are also preparing our newest theatrical work, Necessary Music Only, at Theater for the New City, where we are committed to keeping ticket prices as affordable as possible so cost is never a barrier to participation.

At a time when arts funding has become increasingly uncertain, community support makes this work possible. Your contribution helps cover the essential costs that audiences rarely see: fair compensation for our musicians, rehearsal space, transportation, printing, batteries and technical supplies, equipment maintenance, and the many practical expenses required to bring live performances into public spaces.

Your generosity also supports the creation of new music, commissions for composers within the ensemble, educational resources, photography and video documentation, and the free online materials that allow our work to reach audiences well beyond New York.
