“Treading on Thin Ice” is a series of works that contemplates human conditions under progressive catastrophes resulting from social issues and climate change. This project is based on my field research and experience during two of my expeditions with the Arctic Circle program around Svalbard archipelago, Norway in 2022 and 2024(upcoming). The project attempts to re-imagine where we as humans stand amidst our changing land. The goal of this series is to use new media and installations as tools to manifest the changes in our surroundings that are often overlooked, thus provoking awareness of our environment in a fundamental plan to slow down the deterioration of our environment due to climate change.
