About

True Crime & Tea is a short film that explores the unraveling of intimate relationships under the psychological strain of isolation, grief, and collective trauma. Set during a pandemic lockdown, the story follows four diverse housemates, each with their own emotional baggage and cultural histories, as their cozy domestic bubble begins to crack from the inside out. Through moments of humor, tension, and eerie sci-fi horror, the film delves into how disconnection, suppressed truths, and unresolved grief manifest when there's nowhere left to hide—not even from yourself. This project seeks to elevate underrepresented voices by centering a diverse cast of characters across race, gender, and sexual identity, portraying complex emotional lives rarely explored in genre filmmaking. The story is both a standalone short and a narrative seed for House of Toxic Hues of Blue, a psychological drama feature in development. By blending authentic character dynamics with unsettling, otherworldly elements, True Crime & Tea aims to challenge traditional notions of "normalcy" and offer a fresh, resonant take on confinement, memory, and the fractured nature of truth.
