The Umbrella Cover Museum is all about celebrating the mundane. It is a collection of umbrella sleeves from over 65 countries, all donated by individuals. There are close to 2,000 covers in this Guinness World Record holding collection. The museum is housed in a tiny space on Peaks Island, Maine, a ferry ride from Portland. The museum is only open in the summer. There is a pop-up exhibition that can travel to your part of the world. Contact museum director, Nancy 3. Hoffman to arrange a showing.
