New York City has one of the most talented musical workforces in the world. A majority of these musicians live in Uptown Manhattan. Uptown Philharmonic was created to be the large scale organization that represents the musicians and composers of NYC. Our philosophy is to provide a collaborative, blank canvas environment to present our music in new and exciting ways. Through our Perform and Preserve initiative all of our projects and performances are video recorded in order to have an active online presence and connect with a 21st century audience.
Our first season is dedicated to growing our presence in the NYC community and solidifying a strong foundation for our organization to build on over the next several years. All funding raised for the first season will be dedicated to:
Strengthening our artistic mission with the musicians and composers of NYC;
developing streams of revenue and building a financially sound foundation;
growing our following by connecting with our community;
and taking further steps to attain 501(c)3 non-profit status.
What we need to fund…
The biggest expenses for Uptown Philharmonic are the fees for the musicians, venue/instrument rentals, and video production equipment and team. Here is how your contribution will help:
$100 will allow us to secure high quality spaces for video shoots, performances, and rehearsals.
$250 will contribute to hiring New York City’s finest young musicians.
$500 will help us continue to make professional quality video productions and allow today’s music to live forever online.
Our Record…
“In ‘Cassandra’s Curse,’ set to a commissioned score by Richard Danielpour- the twitchy, turbulent string music, performed live by Uptown Philharmonic, is the best part.” -The New York Times
