Co-producer's Katie Kunkel and August Kiss Fegley (now UR MEAN KATHLEEN) are venturing to Edinburgh, Scotland ONCE AGAIN! - this time premiering a new dark comedy: The Body I Left in Susquehanna National Forest. This production, written by long-time friend of the duo, Tom Quackenbush, will be the first time his work is produced in New York City, and abroad!
Katie (producer/director), August (producer/actor/designer), and Tom (playwright) all met in the 7th grade. Within the four walls of a tiny arts school in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, their initial collaborative spirit was ignited by how much they made each other laugh, often serving as their medicine through tougher moments growing up. In high school, their friendship and creative bonds grew deeper as they worked on countless plays together until graduation.

The trio went their separate ways until Katie and August began producing together, now a bit older and wiser after moving to NYC and starting their company, UR MEAN KATHLEEN. After the success of their 2025 Edinburgh Fringe debut with SALOON GIRLS, they commissioned Tom to write The Body I Left in Susquehanna National Forest. The perfect opportunity to get the gang back together!
BUT - they can't do it alone. Your support will fund their performances at home and abroad! First, at The Tank in NYC on July 24, 25, 26, and 27th. And in August, the team will fly across the pond for their two-week run in Scotland at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from August 7-22nd.
August and Katie's producing company, UR MEAN KATHLEEN, is launching this crowdfunding campaign for $25,000 to cover the costs of Travel and Housing for their team, Marketing and Publicity to stand out in a festival of over 3,000 other shows, and Production Costs. Every dollar counts, and no contribution is too small. All donations are tax deductible!
Now, what you've been waiting for...
THE PLAY By Tom Quackenbush Directed by Katie Kunkel Performed by August Kiss Fegley, Kit Colacito, and Joey D'Amore Written by Chicago based sketch writer Tom Quackenbush, the play follows newlyweds Claire and Patrick on the way to their Niagara Falls honeymoon. The trip goes south when the two become stranded in the middle of Susquehanna National Forest, reeling from a car accident they’ve just survived. Discovering the body of a woman they've hit, tensions rise and sanity falls as Patrick tries to get the car out of a ditch and Claire grows fond of the corpse... As their newly bound partnership is presented with the ultimate test, will the event bring them closer together, or will death do thy part?

For those who might not know, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest live performing arts festival in the world. Featuring thousands of companies every August, it has served as the birthplace of countless stage and screen hits like Fleabag, Baby Reindeer, SIX: The Musical and STOMP. Artists from around the globe travel to the UK to share their work, from solo shows, to clown, to stand-up comedy. It is an honor for UR MEAN KATHLEEN to be included among the theater industry's trailblazers, who make their impressions on the artform year after year.
Being able to premiere The Body I Left in Susquehanna National Forest at the Edinburgh fringe will be instrumental for the team to garner reviews, (hopefully) receive award nominations, and develop artistic relationships they need to take their work to the next level and grow their company in the states. And YOU can help them get there!

Between the two, they’ve worked with Philadelphia Fringe Arts, Chautauqua Theatre Company, Syracuse Stage, The Tank, and 59E59 Theaters, among others.
