About

Vers :: Clothing for People is a community hub for independent, environmentally conscious clothing creators and people who find joy in self-expression. The store carries one-of-kind, sustainable, size-inclusive clothing and accessories handmade by over 35 local LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and working-class designers. There is an in-house sewing studio where makers can access collective tools and host workshops to share skills. The space transforms to host events like clothing swaps, intimate musical performances, poetry readings, community meetups, art shows, pop up shops & more! Vers supports artists at various stages of their careers with the opportunity to sell their work in-person and online while retaining creative control, with a fair split for pricing and no minimum sales requirement. Vers provides access to space, tools, and support to create and sell new garments in an ethical way. Vers provides low- to no-cost event space and promotion to designers and community members, to organize gatherings, collection debuts, and fundraisers. The interconnected community fosters organic collaboration amongst artists. Vers is a safe, comfortable, and affirming space for people to explore their gender and self-expression. The intimate nature of knowing that the clothes are made within the community encourages community members to think differently about who makes their clothes, and empowers them to rethink their consumption by sharing information, ideas, and resources.
