About

"West Side Rendezvous" seeks to preserve and honor the lives of the queer and trans community documented by Japanese photographer Katsu Naito in early 1990s New York. Through the publication of a hardcover monograph, the project will make Naito's photographs accessible to scholars, institutions, and the general public. In doing so, it returns visibility and dignity to a community that history has too often ignored.
