About

The western monarch butterflies' annual life cycle spans from areas west of the Rocky Mountains to the California coast. Multiple generations of butterflies migrate in search of their host plant, milkweed. Unfortunately, the western monarchs have experienced a severe decline in population over the past three decades, a trend that many other native pollinators have faced. However, we can help to restore a healthy balance in the ecosystem by improving pollinator habitats in these regions. Whether in urban or rural areas, anyone can participate in protecting and preserving biodiversity and our natural resources. My goal with this project is to increase awareness, promote the restoration of pollinator habitats, foster a connection to nature, and work toward revitalizing biodiversity in our ecosystems.
