About

Women of the Ozarks is a collaborative show featuring female artists from the Ozark Mountain region of Arkansas. Our mission is to spotlight local, femme-identifying artists, bring meaningful art to Ozark regions in various media, and provide an opportunity for our community to engage with local artists and one another. Women of the Ozarks offers professional development and community for the cohort, meeting them in every phase of their careers. Women of the Ozarks cohorts are jury selected and allowed to create a collection based on a central theme. The current structure offers free application with an artist investment upon acceptance. We partner with community leaders and organizations to provide needs-based scholarships to ensure accessibility and equity within the program. Women of the Ozarks was founded by Tram Colwin and Claire Pongonis, visual artists, art educators, and advocates for sharing art with Northwest Arkansas.
