wrkSHäp | kiloWatt, LLC is a Black woman-owned and operated design studio founded in 2021 by architect k. kennedy Whiters, AIA (she/her) illuminates possibilities in historic preservation and owner’s representation / construction project management, and racially-equitable history communications. The client list currently includes a 3-story, masonry African American cultural arts center on the National Register of Historic Places on Chicago’s South Side.

kennedy is an architect, social scientist, published writer, and guest speaker. She is the founder of wrkSHäp | kiloWatt, home to three initiatives she founded to support racial equity:
