Sopranos and multi-instrumentalists Mary Bonhag and Ruth Cunningham (Anonymous 4) will record an album August of 2026. The project celebrates the Divine Feminine as musically expressed through two figures of early Christianity: Mary Magdalene, called by the Catholic Church "Apostle to the Apostles", and Mary, mother of Jesus. A flowering of a deep multi-year collaboration between sopranos and multi-instrumentalists Mary Bonhag and Ruth Cunningham (of Anonymous 4), this album seeks to offer healing and beauty to those who listen. Medieval and contemporary chant feature prominently, as well as improvised settings of excerpts from The Gospel of Mary Magdalene and familiar texts venerating Mother Mary.
