Physical Prizes will have its world premiere at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis, MN from October 24–26, 2025 as part of the Southern Theater’s 2024/2025 Performance Partnership Program.
This project is a collaboration with composer Nora Nygard and seven deeply talented dancers. It will be my first ever presentation of an evening-length production and I am immensely grateful to be a year into work on the project with ten more months ahead to research, refine, and reflect before we share the work in its full form.
It was a joy and an honor to begin to develop this work as a recipient of a Fiscal Year 2024 Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board (MSAB) and I am pleased to share that Physical Prizes has received $10,000 in additional MSAB support through a Fiscal Year 2025 Creative Individuals grant.
While this funding is significant, grant support does not cover the full production costs of the show and your support is crucial in order to carry the work successfully through its second development phase and final presentation.
Your donations will go directly toward covering the show's overarching and essential needs not covered by the grant funding which include but are not limited to:
- paying the cast of seven dancers at a level that reflects their expertise;
- hiring and paying a lighting designer and a costume designer;
- providing a budget for the designers’ materials so they can fully execute their visions;
- assembling and paying for a production team;
- bolstering our press, publicity, and marketing efforts;
- and more
I hope you will consider making a tax-deductible gift to Zoë Koenig Dance Projects to carry this project across the finish line.
Thank you for your support.
All my best,
Zoë Koenig
