DiazFlute Studios was founded in 2020 by flutist Anamarie Diaz. Anamarie started playing the flute in the 6th grade when she joined band. From there, her love of playing grew and led her to studying music performance in college and grad school. Through her studies, she met many influential music teachers including her first band director and flute teacher in 6th grade, her high school band director, her high school flute teacher, her college and grad school flute teachers, and her teachers she's studied with in her professional career. These teachers have helped her carve her path in the classical musical world and helped shape her into the person she is today. As Anamarie's career has progressed, so has her love of teaching and desire to give back to the community.
The Project
DiazFlute Teaching Studio aims to provide pro-bono community flute lessons to students in the City of Richmond public school system. Through group lessons, flute students will learn the fundamentals of playing the flute as well as develop skills that will benefit them for the rest of their life.
Your Support
Community flute lessons are only possible through generous donations. These donations help to pay for the flute lesson, cover the cost of music and music books for students, offset the cost of flute maintenance, and help with flute performance costs.
