Greenpoint Open Studios (GOS) is a grassroots effort led by a team of volunteers with support from local organizations that provides an open platform for local art and artists to build, sustain, and support the thriving creative community in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
For one weekend, hundreds of artists and creatives open up their studios to the public to showcase work in a wide range of mediums--including painting, sculpture, film, photography, textiles, ceramics, and more. GOS is non-curatorial, and welcomes participation from any interested artist or creative in the neighborhood. Currently in its 9th year, the annual event hosts thousands of art enthusiasts, community members, life-long residents, and tourists, who visit the neighborhood for an intimate view of local artists’ creative practices.
A collaboration between artists, volunteers, organizations, and businesses, the mission of GOS is to build a creative ecosystem that provides open access to local art and artists, foster community exchange, and promote the cultural vitality of the neighborhood.
