About

St. Thomas USVI has not had a theater company for 7 years, Brave World Theater VI has answered the community call to renew the performing arts, and as part of The Forum’s Season, ElevateWi, and the Reichhold Center for the Arts, we will present a bold, island-centered adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest with music, dance, puppetry, and poetry.

The storm begins in February 2027, but the work of rebuilding theater in St. Thomas starts now. Your support today will help make this transformative community production possible.

Our mission is to build a future where the voices of the community are celebrated, and where ancestral Virgin Islanders and Afro-Caribbean artists are featured. Through theater, music, dance, puppetry, and community storytelling, we seek to create spaces where residents can explore identity, history, resilience, and hope while strengthening connections across generations.

This production of The Tempest reimagines Shakespeare's classic tale of a storm, a shipwreck, and a revolution through a Virgin Islands lens. Set against themes of colonization, freedom, cultural survival, and transformation, the story resonates deeply with the lived experiences of the full Virgin Islands community.

Every gift, regardless of size, helps bring this vision to life.

By supporting The Tempest and Brave World Theater VI, you are investing in more than a production. You are helping restore the vital cultural institution of theater, and helping to amplify local voices, inspire young artists, and strengthen the creative future of the Virgin Islands.

We invite you to be a central player in bringing theater back to St. Thomas.

Thank you for believing in the power of art, storytelling, and community!
