Urban Wildlife Arts is an after-school performing arts program for children of all ages (located in NYC). We create original live dance and theatre pieces, as well as collaborative film and animation projects using our imagination, creativity and love of animals.
We encourage self-expression through the creative process. Our classes help nurture new experiences and friendships through collaboration and ensemble work, and give kids artistic license to express themselves through mixed mediums. Along with performance techniques, our young artists learn how to overcome shyness and fear of public speaking; to understand and empathize with others; and to engage in fun, imaginative play.
Most of our art centers around animal themes. Our interactive classes allow our young artists to learn about animals while also embodying their stories, and creating original work. Whether it be about a friendship between a fox and a horse, the lives of wild elephants, urban birds, or even a fairytale about a Prince and his cats, UWA helps foster empathy and artistic expression through our love and friendship with animals.
